National School Resource Officer Appreciation

Mike Lewis CHS.png

S.R.O./Deputy Mike Lewis joined the Livingston County Sheriff's Office in 1998 and was employed with the Chillicothe Police Department prior to joining our team.  To put it simply, Mike is the foundation of school safety and security in Chillicothe and Livingston County.  Mike has trained and guided countless law enforcement officers in the way of school-related law enforcement and was even a founding member of the Missouri School Resource Officer's Association.  On this past Monday, February 10th, 2025, school staff, area law enforcement and emergency services were able to conduct a large-scale active shooter training scenario all because of Mike's tireless dedication to his craft.  This training was complex, took months to set up and would not have been possible without Mike's passion for ensuring the safety of students, staff and first responders alike.

Jennifer Plummer CES.jfif

S.R.O./Deputy Jennifer Plummer re-joined the LCSO in 2020 after previously being employed with Trenton P.D. as an officer and the LCSO as a deputy and detention officer.  Jennifer assists in road patrol for the LCSO when she is not working as primary security for Chillicothe Elementary School.  Jennifer cares greatly for the students she protects at CES.

McElroy, Andrea.JPG

S.R.O./Detective Andrea McElroy joined the LCSO in 2024 after previously being employed in law enforcement in Ray County, Missouri, Kansas and Texas.  Andrea is working diligently to develop our new school resource officer program to enhance the safety and security of Southwest RI, Chula RIII and Bishop Hogan Memorial Schools.  Before the 2025-2026 school year, Andrea will be fully trained as a school resource officer and DARE program instructor.  We are very excited to roll this program out with Andrea.

We are extremely thankful and fortunate to have these three dedicated officers to provide services to Chillicothe and Livingston County Schools.

Thank you for all you do!
