January 06, 2018 the Livingston County Sheriff’s Office (LCSO) worked with the Midland Empire Alcohol Task Force (MEATF) on compliance checks on all businesses involved in retail and by the drink sales in Livingston County. These checks involve an 18-year-old willing participant that was sent into each business in attempt to obtain alcoholic beverages.

On the evening of January 06 the LCSO issued citations to 3 people for alleged Supplying Liquor to a Minor. Citations were issued in the following locations:

200 block Washington Street, Chillicothe, 20 year old male was cited.

10 block of Elm Street, Chillicothe, 35 year old female was cited.

21000 block of Park Street, Avalon, 36 year old female was cited.

The MEATF has a grant which pays for the deputy’s overtime to work these investigations so there is no cost to Livingston County.

The LCSO and MEATF will continue with training businesses and their employees on legal alcohol sales and ways to reduce their chances of making a mistake.
